1986年7月3日，穆奇亚娜出生于阿富汗喀布尔（英语：Kabul，普什图语：کابل）， 阿富汗伊斯兰共和国首都，位于该国东部的喀布尔河谷、兴都库什山南麓，北纬34度，东经69度，海拔1800米。喀布尔为喀布尔省省会，也是阿富汗的最大城市。

2008年8月16日，国家体育场“鸟巢”，阿富汗女田径选手穆奇亚娜·罗比娜参加女子100米预赛，成为85名所有参加第一轮预赛选手的最后一位，她的成绩是14秒80。其成绩可能未必比得上一个练田径的普通中国女中学生。成为奥运会历史上跑得最慢的运动员。但全场观众仍为她报以热烈的掌声。

笔者要说的是，我们今日为最后一名罗比娜掌声，并不是她的“最后一名”感到我们，而是她积极参与奥运，代表一个国家和地区人民对奥运的参与和突破而鼓掌，但是，罗比娜特殊的是身份和身后的参赛背景，其实更多的是一份悲情和辛酸，给人的感觉是凄凉和痛楚带给我们的是更多的深沉思考。
