On November 7, 1996, Ella yelich-o'connor (hereinafter referred to as Lorde) was born in Auckland, New Zealand. Her mother was Sonia yelich, a New Zealand poet, and her father, Vic O'Connor, was a civil engineer. Lorde, who has a sister and two siblings, grew up on the outskirts of Devon in northern Auckland.
